Dear Mr. Fitzpatrick:
This letter confirms the discussion between Mr. A. B. Beach of the NRC and you to discuss, in a public meeting, D. C. Cook's December 2, 1997, response to the Confirmatory Action Letter (CAL No. Rill-97-011) issued to you on September 19, 1997. The meeting is scheduled on Tuesday, December 16, 1997, at 10:00 a.m. (EST) at the Training Building near the D. C. Cook facilities.
The purpose of the meeting is to discuss AEP's actions in response to the CAL for each D. C.
Cook unit prior to restart of the respective unit. In addition, we expect AEP to discuss the short term engineering assessment regarding whether these types of engineering problems may exist in other safety related systems and whether they may affect system operability. This meeting is open to the public.
- We willgladly discuss any questions you may have concerning this matter.
