EXAMINATION REPORT
Dear Mr. Fitzpatrick:
During the week of January 8,
- 1996, Mr. C. Osterholtz of this office administered an initial license examination to an employee of your company who had applied for a license to operate the D.
C.
Cook Nuclear Plant.
At the conclusion of the examination, preliminary findings were discussed with those members of your staff identified in the enclosed report.
The applicant received a senior reactor operator (SRO) instant examination.
The applicant failed the written portion of the examination.
The applicant passed all other portions of the examination.
Your staff generated the examination materials for NRC review and administered the written examination in accordance with the NRC initial examination pilot program.
As a result of NRC examination
- reviews, items for improvement and areas of the examination which did not meet NUREG-1021 guidelines were identified, and are presented in Section 3.0 of the enclosed report.
The NRC examiner required examination changes to meet NUREG 1021 guidelines, and to make the overall examination comparable to recently administered NRC operator license examinations at other facilities.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the Commission's regulations, a copy of this letter and the enclosures will be placed in the NRC Public Document Room.
