Dear Mr. Denton:
This letter and its attachments transmit the Reactor Vessel Material Surveillance Reports for the Donald C.
Cook Nuclear Plant.
The surveillance capsules (capsule Y) were removed from both units during the fall of 1982 and were tested and analyzed by Southwest Research Institute (SWRI).
Three copies each of the following reports are enclosed with this letter:
1.
Report No. SWRI-7244-001/1, "Reactor Vessel Material Surveillance Program for Donald C.
Cook Nuclear Plant No.
1, Analysis of Capsule Y," dated January 1984.
2.
Report No. SWRI-7244-002/1, "Reactor Vessel Material Surveillance Program for Donald C.
Cook Nuclear Plant No. 2, Analysis of Capsule Y," dated February 1984.
The license amendments resulting from the above reports are currently scheduled to be submitted for NRC approval in November, 1984.
