PUBLIC MEETING ATTHE D. C. COOK FACILITIES

Dear Mr. Fitzpatrick:

This letter confirms the discussion between Mr. R. N. Gardner of the NRC and John Sampson, Site Vice President, to discuss, in a public meeting, ongoing issues at D. C. Cook. The meeting is scheduled on Friday, February 27, 1998, at 10:00 a.m. (EST) at the Training Building near the D. C. Cook facilities.

The purpose of the meeting is to present the findings for two recent inspections.

One inspection addressed a number of ice condenser. deficiencies, and the second inspection dealt with fibrous material in containment.

Also, the NRC willdiscuss the status of AEP's corrective actions in response to the Confirmatory Action Letter (CAL No. Rill-97-011) issued to you on September 19, 1997.

We willgladly discuss any questions you may have concerning this matter.
