Dear Mr. Denton:
Our letter No. AEP:NRC:0395 dated September ll, 1980 and Mr. D. V. Shaller's letter of July 25, 1980 to Mr. Paul F. Collins submitted a description of our Operator Requalification Training Program. It was our understanding that if the Operator Training Program did not require modi'fications to meet new criteria developed as a result of the TMI Action Plan, it was not necessary to resubmit the program.
At the request of members of your staff we are supplementing our earlier transmittals by enclosing for your review a copy of our Hot License (Replacement)
Training Program.
The Hot License Training Program is an extension at our Plant of the Non-Licensed Operator Training Program.
Completion of both programs is necessary prior to an individual being recommended for the NRC License Examination.
Even though our Replacement Training Program does not have written into it the three-month on-shift requirement called for in Item I.A.2.1 of NUREG-0737, our Training Department has been requiring it prior to license examination.
The Replacement Training Program will be revised by October 1, 1982 to include this requirement.
This document has been prepared following Corporate Procedures which. incorporate a reasonable set of controls to insure its accuracy and completeness prior to signature by the undersigned.
