Dear Mr. Denton:

Mr. Steven A. Varga's letter dated February 19, 1982 states that review of our submittals indicates that we will meet the implementation date of January 1,

1982 for NUREG-0737, Item II.F.1.3 (Containment High Range Radiation Monitors).

This understanding is not correct.

In our letter to you dated December 23, 1981 (AEP:NRC:0652) we requested an extension to 30 days after the end of the refueling outages in 1982 to complete Item II.F.1.3 (and other items) for both Units 1 and 2.

This letter reconfirms that request.

This'ocument has been prepared following Corporate Procedures which incorporate a reasonable set of controls to ensure its accuracy and completeness prior to signature by the undersigned.
