Cook Nuclear Plant Unit 2 REQUEST TO TEMPORARILY SUSPEND NRC REVIEW OF UNIT 2 UPRATE In our submittal AEP:NRC:1223, dated July 11,
- 1996, "Proposed License and Technical Specification Changes Supported by Analyses to Increase Unit 2 Rated Thermal Power and Certain Proposed Changes for Unit 1
Supported by Related Analyses",
we requested a
5%
thermal power uprate of Cook Nuclear Plant's unit 2.
A recent NRC architect-engineer design inspection has identified design and configuration management issues at the plant.
The need to'ffectively manage those issues has required us to divert resources that are also needed to respond in a timely manner to recent NRC,requests for additional information and other issues associated with the uprate.
Therefore, it is necessary for us to request that the NRC temporarily suspend review of our uprate submittal.
We will notify the NRC when we are ready for the review to resume.
