ATTACHMENT TO AEP:NRC:1103J MANAGEMENT ACTIONS:
The FFD Program was revised during this period to address actions taken for specimens considered to be "Suspect" as follows: "In the event collection site and/or on-site laboratory personnel have reasonable cause to believe an individual's urine specimen has been adulterated, hydrated and/or tampered with the specimen will be determined to be "Suspect".
Suspect specimens will be submitted to the HHS certified laboratory with specific analytical instructions.
The specimen will be analyzed for 10 CFR Part 26 required drug cutoff levels,
- however, the THC cut-off level will be lowered from 50 ng/ml to 20 ng/ml with confirmation testing at 10 ng/ml."
"Examples of a
"Suspect" Specimen are as follows (not all inclusive):
Observed aberrant/atypical behavior while in the collection site.
Low specific gravity.
Temperatures out of range.
A presumptive positive for THC, reported between 25 ng/ml and 50 ng/ml, from the on-site laboratory.
The FFD monitoring follow-up program was revised to provided a more "Zero Tolerance" program.
Personnel in the follow-up monitoring program who have a blood alcohol content (BAC) greater than
.009%
will be considered a positive test and subject to management actions and sanctions.
The FFD Random selection/notification process was revised to reduce donor notification of selection to time of specimen collection from the previous recommended two hour time frame to one hour, to the extent possible.
Supervisory personnel are reminded of this one hour recommendation at the time they are informed of their ~orkers selection for test scheduling.
APPEALS:
No appeals were received during this reporting period.
EVENTS:
No events were identified as reportable in accordance with 10 CFR 26.73 during this reporting period.
ATTACHMENT TO AEP:NRC:1103J TEMPORARY SUSPENSIONS:
No temporary suspensions or administrative actions were taken against individuals based on on-site presumptive positive for THC and/or cocaine.
