Dear Sir or Madam:

Pursuant to Title 10 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 50.46(a)(3)(ii), Entergy hereby notifies the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC) staff of information provided by GE Hitachi by Reference 1 concerning potential errors in the Pilgrim reload calculations related to Pilgrim Emergency Core Cooling System (ECCS) performance that could potentially impact the compliance with the peak cladding temperature (PCT) limit of 2200°F.

The referenced notification applies to GNF2 Type Fuel. The plant specific Licensing Basis PCT for GNF2 in Reference 2, Supplemental Reload Licensing Report is 2150°F. The reported change in PCT in response to Reference 1 is 30°F. The 30°F PCT increase, makes the Licensing Basis PCT 2180 °F, which still complies with the calculated PCT limit of 2200°F specified by 10 CFR 50.46(b)(1).

Thus, the reported PCT change has no impact on the public health and safety.

In addition, Pilgrim Nuclear Power Station did not provide 50.46(a)(3)(ii) submittals for 2015 and 2016 as there were no reported changes to the Pilgrim ECCS performance that could have potentially impacted compliance with the PCT limit of 2200°F.
