This refers to the routine safety inspection
conducted
by Messrs. J.
Isom,
D. Hartland,
C. Orsini,
and
R. Bywater of this office from December
17;, 1994
through January
30,
1995.
The inspection
included
a review of activities at
your Donald C.
Cook Nuclear Plant, Units
1 and 2.
At the conclusion of the
inspection,
the findings were discussed
with those
members of your staff
identified in the enclosed report.
Areas examined during the inspection
are identified in the report.
Within
these
areas,
the inspection consisted of a selective
examination of procedures
and representative
records,
observations,
and interviews with personnel.
No violations of NRC requirements
were identified during this inspection.
However,
we did identify one area of concern.
Previous inspection reports
50-
315/94018
and 50-316/94018
documented
problems regarding failure to remove
action request
(AR) tags
upon resolution of the deficiencies
documented
on the
tags.
While your long term corrective actions
are not due for completion
until June
1,
1995, this inspection
showed that isolated
examples
are still
occurring.
We understand
that you plan to reassess
your interim corrective
actions.
This area will be monitored during future inspections.
In accordance
with 10 CFR 2.790 of the Commission's regulations,
a copy of
this letter and the enclosure will be placed in the
NRC Public Document
Room.
We will gladly discuss
any questions
you have concerning this inspection.
