Dear Mr. Phillips:

This letter transmits one set of approved (where appropriate) Cook Plant reference materials for use in developing and administering our upcoming NRC SRO Simulator examination.

The set of materials includes all of the items requested by Doug

Shepard, NRC Region III, during a telephone conversation with Russell Scott, Replacement Training Program Administrator for Cook. Accompanying this letter are four (4) boxes containing these materials.

For your convenience a brief summary of the contents of these boxes is provided in Attachment A.

The Cook Plant Simulator has undergone signiTicant changes since the last NRC examination.

One of these changes involves the replacement of Foxboro Controls with Taylor Controllers.

These new controllers perform the same function as the Foxboro unit they replaced.

However, Controller Malfunctions may not function as described in the Malfunction Cause and Effects document.
