RESPONSE
TO RAI ITEM 1 This item requested a defense-in-depth analysis for the Reactor Protection Syst: em (RPS) upgrade.
An executive summary of the analysis we performed for the upgrade was originally submitted in our letter AEP:NRC:1159C dated December 16, 1993, and is repeated in this letter.
The evaluation addressed the consequences of a postulated common mode failure of the Foxboro Spec 200 equipment.
As requested by your staff during the December 20, 1993, meeting, we have attached the tables showing the specific analysis results for the loss of flow and locked rotor events.
These are included in Appendix B.
