Dear Dr. Murley:

In our letter AEP:NRC:1181, dated April 16, 1993, we requested an extension for certain Technical Specification (T/S) surveillances which are required to be performed prior to our currently scheduled refueling outage of August 6, 1994. This letter requests withdrawal of two of those surveillances, 4.5.2.d.l and 4.5.3.1 (RHR auto-closure interlock), because they were performed during a recent forced outage. These two T/S surveillances were referred to as 'Group 9'n the previous submittal.

Please replace page 3/4 5-5 that was contained in Attachment 2 (proposed T/Ss) and Attachment 3 (marked up T/Ss) of AEP:NRC:1181 with the enclosed pages. Note that page 3/4 5-8, which corresponds to surveillance 4.5.3.1, will remain the same since that surveillance applies to more than the RHR auto-closure interlock.

In compliance with the requirements of 10 CFR 50.91(b)(1), copies of this letter have been transmitted to the Michigan Public Service Commission and to the Michigan Department of Public Health.

This letter is submitted pursuant to 10 CFR 50.30(b) and, as such/
