By letter dated July 1, 1981, R.

Youngdahl (Consumers Power),
- Chairman, EPRI Research Program, transmitted the Interim Data Report for the EPRI PWR Safety and Relief Valve Test Program.
This report summarizes the test data collected to date on relief valves (safety valve data is still not available).
Results provided in Section 4.5 for relief valves of the EPRI Interim Data Report are applicable to our plant.
The Donald C.
Cook Nuclear Plant has Masoneilan Model '//38-20721 power operated relief valves and Crosby Model 8HB-BP-86-6M6 safety valves.
Please note that Masoneilan valves identical to those tested are installed in both Units of the Cook Plant.
Our preliminary evaluation of the data indicates-that the valves installed in our plant will perform their intended function.
& Michigan Electric Company will submit final evaluations and other plant specific data on a
schedule consistent with R.
C. Youngdahl's letter of December 15, 1980 as modified by his letter of July 1, 1981.
