COOK - UNIT 1 RELOAD ECCS ANALYSIS
'4 The purpose of this meeting held on January 14, 1981 in Bethesda was to describe Exxon's plans for the forthcoming relodd ECCS analysis to the staff. A list of meeting attendess is shown on the attachment.
The analysis for Cycle 6 will use all of Exxon's latest approved models, and will Offer in several respects from their previous analytical process.
As a result Exxon expects to show an allowable increase in Fqi from 1.95 to over 2.0 while satisfying all requir-ements of Appendix K.
The principal changes in this analysis relative to previous will consist of the following:
1.
The use of Exxon's ICECON code to compute the LOCA containment pressure during reflood instead of the NSSS supplier's analysis as in previous reload analyees.
2.
The use of Exxon's REFLEX,code to compute the LOCA reflood tr ansient instead of the RELAP 4-EM/FLOOD code.
3.
A revised TOODEE-2 fuel heatup model.
The two new codes and the TOODEE-2 revision have been previously reviewed and approved for licensing analysis by the staff, so that the proposed analytical pi ocess present no new codes or procedures to be reviewed for the D.C. Cook 81 application.
The staffkreview will consist of a review of the plant specific analysis only.
Exxon glans to submit the analysis near the end of February 1981 including a new FqT curve to be used in the Technical SpeAficationsse Plant startup is scheduled for July, so that staff review and acceptance would be allowed over a 3 to 4 month span.
It was indicated to the Exxon staff that this would allow adequate time for the RSB staff to review the plant analysis.
