1992 1 of 2 MONTHLY OPERATING ACTIVITIES SEPTEMBER 1992 HIGHLIGHTS The unit entered this reporting period in Mode 2 with the reactor critical and reactor power being maintained as required to support the turbine generator vibration evaluation and balancing efforts.

The turbine generator was paralleled to the grid on September 2 at 1525 followed by a reactor power increase to 29% RTP.

On September 4 the reactor power was increased to 49% RTP and stabilized for flux mapping.

On September 6 reactor power was increased to 70% RTP and stabilized for flux mapping.

On September 7 during a reactor power increased from 70% RTP, the reactor power increase was stopped at 86% RTP due to high main turbine generator vibrations.

In response to the high vibrations, a reactor power reduction was commenced.

At 84 RTP the main turbine generator was tripped.

To complete further evaluation of the main turbine generator vibrations, the generator rotor has been removed and transported to the ABB facility in Richmond, Virginia for testing and repairs as required.

The unit ended this reporting period in Mode 5, cold shutdown.

There were no challenges to the pressurizer safety valves or power operated relic'f valves.

Gross electrical generation for the month of September was 66150 MNH.
