Dear Dr. Murley:
The purpose of this letter is to provide close-out information for NRC Bulletin 89-01 Supplement 2 "Failure of Westinghouse Steam Generator Tube Mechanical Plugs."
Our letter dated July 29, 1991 (AEP:NRCr1096C) provided our response to NRC Bulletin 89-01 Supplement 2.
In that letter, we committed to replacing all affected Inconel 600 mechanical plugs n Unit 1 prior to the plugs exceeding the effective full power day (EFPD) limits established by Westinghouse.
By this letter, we are informing you that all affected plugs that were required to be removed prior to expiration of the operating license were removed during the Unit 1 Cycle 12-13 refueling outage.
The affected p ugs were either replaced with Inconel 690 plugs or the tubes were recovered by sleeving.
