Dear Dr. Murley:
- Enclosed, as requested by your staff, is one copy of the final seismic analysis report entitled, "Crane Seismic Report, Cask Handling Crane, 150/20 Ton Capacity, S/N 12115," Volumes I and II dated September 9,
1987, performed by Whiting Corporation.
This analysis is for the new auxiliary building crane being built to meet the single-failure-proof requirements of NUREG-0554.
This final seismic analysis, which confirms the conclusions of the preliminary seismic analysis provided in Supplement 1 of the Steam Generator Repair Report, demonstrates that the allowable stresses of the principal structural components of the new crane are not exceeded during a design-basis earthquake with a 60 ton load on the main hook.
