Dear Mr. Oenton:
This letter and its attachments transmit the information requested by your Staff during a telephone conversation held on January 21, 1980.
Attachment 1 is a summary report of the thermal plume monitoring efforts and provides a comparison of the measurements with model pre-dictions.
The attachment also contains justification for not requiring any further measurements in order to validate the analytical model..
'Attachment 2 is a copy of the facility's NPDES Permit (No. MI 0005827) which was also requested by your Staff.
Pages 7 through 9 of Attachment 2
discuss the requirements for thermal plume studies.
It should be noted that even though the said p'ermit expired on October 31, 1979, it is the most current permit and is still in effect.
We have applied for a renewal of this permit in a timely manner, in May of 1979, however, the renewal process by the Michigan Water Resources Commission is still ongoing.
The renewed permit, when it becomes available, will be at the facility for inspection by your Staff.
Based on the documentation presented
- herein, we believe that we have furnished all the information requested by your Staff and we, therefore, request you to amend your records to indicate that the facility has fulfilled all the requirements under Section 4.1.1.2 of its Appendix B Technical Specification.
