Keppler, Regional Director Office of Inspection and Enforcement United States Nuclear Regulatory'Commission Region III 799 Roosevelt Road Glen Ellyn, IL 60137 Operating License DPR-74 Docket No. 50-316

Dear Mr. Keppler:

This is to confirm our verbal report to NRC Region III Inspector, Mr. R.E. Masse, at 1035 hours0.012 days
0.288 hours
0.00171 weeks
3.938175e-4 months
on November 15, 1979.

At that time we reported that with the unit in Mode 6 the charging flow path was found isolated at the Boron Injection Tank at both inlet and outlet valves.

Since the normal charging flow path was already isolated, this constituted an unavailable flow path.

Upon discovery of this situation, we immediately returned the valve lineup to service and verified flow.

A followup report will be submitted by November 28,

1979, as required by Technical Specification Section 6.9.1.8.

Sincerely, D.V. Shaller Plant Manager
