Dear Mr. Denton:
This letter serves to provide additional information with regar d to the pressure pulsation dampener s to be installed on the discharge piping of the reciprocating charging pumps at the Cook Plant.
The information contained herein is being submitted in response to requests by members of your staff and supplements the information contained in our AEP:NRC:00015 submittal dated August 8, 1978.

One dampener per unit The dampener will be installed at the discharge flange of the reciprocating char ging pump.
Each pulsation dampener weighs approximately 665 lbs when flooded.
General Atomic Company PDSN 3-20(
The dampeners are spherical, passive devices.
The outer diameter is approximately 20 inches.
The dampeners will be installed during the next regularly scheduled refueling outage of each unit.
A vibration report will be submitted to the Commission within four. months of the completion of the first refueling outage of Unit No. 2.
The vibration report will contain the information request in item Nos. l.a., l.b., and l.c. of the enclosure to Mr. A.
Schwencer's letter dated May 18, 1978.
