Indiana Michigan Power Company (I&M).

In order to maintain cleaxly defined responsibilities and continued safe operation, Mr. Robert P. ~,

Sr. Vice. President, Nuclear Generation will assume the responsibilities of site vice president for an interim period until our new Site Vice President, Mr. A. Christopher Bakken III, reports in at the D. C.

Cook Plant site.

In support of the above noted tempo ary functional responsibility, the Vice President, Nuclear Engineering will assist the Sr.

Vice President by overseeing the function of Restart/Work Control.

The Business Services Director will assist the Sr. Vice President by overseeing the functions of Site Services and the Corrective Action Program.

AEP: NRC: 1282C Based on this review and evaluation of the interim responsibilities, it is concluded that the functions, including oversight activities, as described in the Updated Final Safety Analysis (UFSAR),

Technical Specifications, Modified Amended Security

Plan, Emergency Plan and Quality Assurance Program Description (QAPD), will not reduce the level of commitments nor result in any unreviewed safety question.

The overall effect of the interim organization will ensure that the functions as described remain the same.

This will assure and satisfy regulatory requirements described in the

UFSAR, Technical Specifications, Modified Amended Security>Rlan, Emergency Plan and QAPD.

Please revise the NRC distribution list for correspondence by replacing Mr. John R.

Sampson with Mr. A. Christopher Bakken III, Site Vice President.

In addition, please add Mr. Michael W.

Rencheck, Vice President, Nuclear Engineering and indicate Mr. David.

F.

Kunsemiller, Director Regulatory Affairs, in place of the title "Regulatory Affairs Director."

A facsimile of the NRC distribution list, indicating the above noted revisions, has been included as attachment 2 of this letter.

Copies of this letter and its attachments are transmitted to the Michigan Public Service Commission and Michigan Department of Public

Health, in accordance with the requirements of 10 CFR 50.91.
