MONTHLY OPERATING ACTIVITIES - JANUARY 1989 The Unit entered this period at 905 rated thermal power (RTP).

A power reduction to 71%

RTP for core stretchout was performed between 1600 hours0.0185 days
0.444 hours
0.00265 weeks
6.088e-4 months
on January 14th and 0130 hours0.0015 days
0.0361 hours
2.149471e-4 weeks
4.9465e-5 months
on January 15th.

The cause of the trip was an operator-error-induced loss of main condenser vacuum.

The condition was corrected and the generator paralleled at 1812 hours0.021 days
0.503 hours
0.003 weeks
6.89466e-4 months
.

The unit reached 70K power at 1610 on Jan.

18 and remained there for the remainder of the reporting period.

DETAILS 01-16-89 1633 Turbine/Reactor Trip due to low vacuum.

01-17-89 1308 The reactor was taken critical.

1440 Reactor entered Mode 1.

1812 Generator paralleled to system.

2030 Stopped power ascension at 29K for chemistry cleanup.

01-18-89 0525 Stopped power ascension at 48K for quadrant Power Tilt Ratio.

1610 Reactor Power reached 70%.
