Stephens TELEPHONE: (616) 465-5901 DATE: January 6, 1989 PAGE: 1 of 1 MONTHLY OPERATING ACTIVITIES - DECEMBER 1988 HIGHLIGHTS The steam generator repair project continues to proceed. Steam generator replacement has been completed. Hydro testing of the steam generators has been successfully completed and eddy current examination of all steam generator tubes has been completed. The steam generators were placed in wet lay-up on December 13.

The anticipated return to service for the unit is February 1989.

Ste ens TELEPHONE 616 465-5901 PAGE 1 of 1 MAJOR SAFETY-RELATED MAINTENANCE DECEMBER 1988 Pressurizer power operated relief valves, 2-NRV-151 and 2-NRV-153, were leaking by and were repaired by replacing the valve stem, plug and seat ring.

Inspected the f21 Reactor Coolant Pump lower motor bearing and replaced bearing shoes as required.

Repaired weld leak on 4 inch pipe cap on 12 inch component cooling water supply line to the south spent fuel pit heat exchanger. Leak was discovered during the system hydro testing.
