Dear Dr. Murley:
The purpose of this letter is to request withdrawal of a portion of the Technical Specification (T/S) changes requested in our letter AEP:NRC:0967L dated August 9, 1988.
The portion that we are requesting to withdraw consists of those items numbered 2
and 3 in Attachment 1 of the letter.
Letter No. AEP:NRC:0967L proposed four surveillance interval extensions to allow Unit '1 of the Donald C.
Cook Nuclear Plant to continue operation until the upcoming Cycle 10-11 refueling outage.
The requested extensions are for surveillances due between February 26,
- 1989, and March 26, 1989 'owever, items 2
and 3 of our request, which involve ice condenser flow passage inspections and inlet door testing, were performed during an unanticipated outage that occurred between September 7 and September 15, 1988.
The outage was not of sufficient duration to perform the testing involved with items 1 and 4 of our request, which involve ice basket weighing and RTD calibrations.
We have included as an attachment to this letter a revised T/S page 3/4 6-27.
This page had changes related to items 1 and 2 of our letter AEP:NRC:0967L.
The page has been revised to reflect the deletion of item 2, as discussed above.
The proposed revised pages containing the item 3 changes, 3/4 6-30 and 3/4 6-33, are no longer needed and therefore are being withdrawn.
