Dear Dr. Murley:
This letter responds to NRC Bulletin No. 88-03, "Inadequate Latch Engagement in HFA Type Latching Relays Manufactured by General Electric (GE) Company."
The subject bulletin requests all addressees to respond.
We have determined that we do have HFA type latching relays in the balance-of-plant (BOP) application, but our investigation did not disclose any GE manufactured HFA type latching relays in Class lE applications in either unit of the Cook Nuclear Plant.
Per the NRC's request, we have estimated 24 man hours of staff time required to research this information and to prepare this response.
This document has been prepared following corporate procedures which incorporate a reasonable set of controls to ensure its accuracy and completeness prior to signature by the undersigned.
