MONTHLY OPERATING ACTIVITIES -

FEBRUARY 1988 HIGHLIGHTS The reporting period began with the Unit at its administrative power limit of 80K reactor power.

Reactor power was increased from 805 to 1005 during the reporting period to collect steam flow and feed water flow control system data.

Power was later restored to 80K.

A power reduction was required to repair a steam leak on the east main feed pump section strainer vent line.

Power was later restored to 80'A reactor power.

The reporting period ended with the unit at 80K reactor power.

Gross electrical generation for the month of February was 662,010 MMH.

DETAILS 2-15-88 2-17-88 2-23-88 At 0900 the first step of a planned power ascension to 100K reactor power was initiated.

Ninety percent power was reached at 1453 on 2-15-88.

Power remained at 905 until 0300 on 2-27-88, at which time the final step to reach 100K reactor power was initiated.

Reactor power reached lOOL at 1005 on 2-17-88.

At 1235, a reactor power reduction to 80K was initiated, restoring reactor power to the 80K administrative limit at 1715 on 2-17-88.

At 1706 a reactor power reduction to approximately 50$ reactor power was initiated to permit repair of a weld leak on the east main feed pump section strainer vent line.

The unit reached 51.5% reactor power at 2315 on 2-23-88.

At 2125 2-24-88, operators began increasing power to 80K, which was reached at 0335 on 2-25-88.
