Dear Dr. Murley:
This letter serves to inform you that the Donald C.
Cook Nuclear Plant Training Program has been fully accredited by the Institute of Nuclear Power Operations.
Specifically, ten training programs, in the following areas, have been accredited:
(1) non-licensed operator, (2) reactor operator, (3) shift technical advisor, (4) chemistry technician, (5) senior reactor operator, (6) radiation protection technician, (7) instrumentation and control technician, (8) maintenance
- electrical, (9) maintenance
- mechanical, and (10) manager and technical staff.
Training programs in the first five areas were accredited in October
- 1986, and the remainder were accredited in October 1987.
Being fully accredited, Indiana Michigan Power Company is now a full member of the National Academy of Nuclear Training.
By meeting the accreditation criteria we believe we have fulfilled the requirements of NUREG-0737, Items I.A.2.1 and I.A.2.3 (NRC Numbers I.A.2.2 and I.A.2.7).
We therefore request that those open items be closed.
