Dear Dr. Murley:
The purpose of this letter is to transmit the Reactor Vessel Material Surveillance Reports for the Donald C.
Cook Nuclear Plant Unit No.
2.
The surveillance capsule (Capsule X) was removed from Unit 2 during the spring of 1986 and was tested and analyzed by Southwest Research Institute (SwRI).
Attached to this letter is a copy of the SwRI Report entitled "Reactor Vessel Material Surveillance Program for Donald C.
Cook Nuclear Plant Unit No. 2, Analysis of Capsule X," SwRI Project 06-8888, dated May 1987.
We are evaluating the impact of this report on the Unit 2 Technical Specifications and will request a Technical Specification change if necessary at a later date.
This document has been prepared following Corporate procedures which incorporate a reasonable set of controls to insure its accuracy and completeness prior to signature by the undersigned.
