Dear Mr. Davis:
This letter is being sent in response to Mr.
W. D. Shafer's letter to Mr. John E. Dolan, dated March 16, 1987.
In that letter Mr. Shafer stated that the changes to the Donald C.
Cook Emergency Plan that resulted from Revision 5 were consistent with the requirements of 10CFR50.54(q) with the exception of the changes to Table 12-1, "Donald C.
Cook Nuclear Plant Staffing for Radiological Emergencies."
Mr. Shafer further stated that Table 12-1 should be restored back to its previous form per Table B-1 of NUREG-0654.
Accordingly, Table 12-1 will be restored back to its previous form as part of the annual revision to the Donald C.
Cook Emergency Plan.
The annual revision is issued in the third quarter of each calendar year.
This action was discussed with Mr. William Snell of your staff and he stated that it would be acceptable.
In addition, the appropriate text of the Donald C.
Cook Emergency Plan will also be revised to state that the staff augmentation time limits of Table 12-1 are goals rather than regulatory requirements.
This document has been prepared following Corporate procedures which incorporate a reasonable set of controls to insure its accuracy and completeness prior to signature by the undersigned.
