Dear Sirs:
This letter is being sent in response to a letter from Mr. Jack A. Hind of your staff to Mr. Dennis Loope (I&MECo), dated September 9,
1986.
Mr. Hind requested a cost estimate for the installation of contingency telecommunications equipment at the Donald C.
Cook Nuclear Plant.
Mr. Hind's letter also requested formal permission to use space on the EOF communications tower and the Donald C.
Cook Nuclear Plant microwave tower.
As requested, I&MECo is providing, as the attachment to this
- letter, a cost estimate for the installation of the telecommunications equipment.
In addition, space will be reserved on both towers for the NRC telecommunications equipment.
This letter may be considered as formal permission to use this space if needed during an emergency.
Work described in the attached cost estimate will not proceed until a purchase order has been received from the Nuclear Regulatory Commission.
