NOTICE OF VIOLATION American Electric Power Service Corporation Docket No. 50-315 Docket No. 50-316 As a result of the inspection conducted on October 6 through 9, 1986, and in accordance with the "General Policy and Procedures for NRC Enforcement Actions,"
10 CFR Part 2, Appendix C (1985), the following violation was identified:
Unit 1 and Unit 2 Technical Specification 4.12.1 requires that the radiological environmental samples shall be collected and analyzed pursuant to the requirements of Tables No. 3.12-1 and 4.12-1.
Contrary to the above, the licensee failed:
(1) to collect four milk samples within the 15 day period specified in Table 3.12-1; and (2) to achieve the Table 4.12-1 specified lower limits of detection for radionuclides in lake and drinking water samples collected at the public intakes.
This is a Severity Level IY violation (Supplement IV).
The inspection showed that action had been taken to correct the identified violation and to prevent recurrence.
Consequently, no reply to the violation is required and we have no further questions regarding this matter.
