Dear Mr. Denton:

In our letter to you, AEP:NRC:0916H dated October 8, 1985, we indicated that the following documents would be sent to you either by Exxon, our reload fuel vendor for D. C. Cook Unit. 2, or IMECo.:

1.

"Plant Transient Analysis for D. C. Cook Unit 2 with 10% Steam Generator Tube Plugging," XN-NF-85-64; and 2.

Technical Specification changes which result from the LOCA/ECCS

analysis, Disposition of Standard Review Plan Chapter 15 Events, and the Plant Transient Analysis.

Pursuant to discussions with your staff, the following extensions on these submittals were requested and granted:

Item 1, Plant Transient Analysis November 15, 1985; and Item 2, Technical Specification Changes-December 31, 1985.

The significant hazards evaluation required by 10 CFR 50.92 will accompany the December 31, 1985 submittal.

In our letter AEP:NRC:0916H, we noted that the documentation contained therein constituted the basis for the D. C. Cook Unit 2, Cycle 6 reload licensing.

As stated above, this letter amends the anticipated submission for Unit 2, Cycle 6.

Also, pursuant to the requirements of 10 CFR 170.12(c),

we have enclosed a check for $150.00 to formalize the application.

In compliance with the requirements of 10 CFR 50.91(b)(1),

a copy of this letter has been transmitted to Mr. R. C. Callen of the Michigan Public Service Commission and Mr. G. Bruchmann of the Michigan Department of Public Health.
