PRIORITY OF SAFETY EVALUATIONS FOR D.
C.
COOK On December 18, 1984 in a memo from D.
G. Eisenhut to Hugh Thompson among
- others, DL identified for a number of plants the backlog of licensing actions that NRR will attempt to closeout by June 30, 1985.
This effort is a demonstration of NRR's ability to closeout backlog actions in a timely fashion.
For D.
C. Cook, the responsible branch for TAC's 44294 and 44295 on Procedures Generation Package (F05) was inadvertently listed as HFBR; it should have been PSRB.
On January ll, 1985 in a memo from Hugh Thompson to D. G. Eisenhut, the statement was made that the schedule would be met but cautioned against follow-up reviews.
We assumed DHFS would meet the schedule for D.
C. Cook, however, from telephone conversations between Dave Wigginton and Fred Liederbach, we have reason to believe that DHFS may have missed the D.
C.
Cook TAC's in the Eisenhut'ecember 18th memo.
We understand that the PNL SER is not scheduled to begin until August 1985 with projected completion in Jan-Feb 1986.
It is requested that PSRB consider the D.
C.
Cook schedule and/or provide a
schedule consistent with the June 30, 1985 completion of this item.
As noted in the D.
G. Eisenhut memo dated December 18th, the "safety evaluation for the subject plants (i.e.,
D.
C.
Cook) are to be considered priority actions.
The reviews for these plants should be given priority over similar reviews for other operating reactors unless these are overriding safety issues.
You (H. Thompson) are requested to provide appropriate priorities for reviews under your authority".
Please respond as soon as possible so that we may adjust schedules as necessary.
