Dear Mr. Denton:
This letter transmits a copy of our Program Plan Report for a Detailed Control Room Design Review as referenced in our letter AEP:NRCs0773A, dated August 2, 1983.
This Program Plan Report defines the overall process by which the D. C. Cook Units 1 and 2 Detailed Control Room Design Review Program will be performed.
It is our belief that this document is a comprehensive plan, which should ensure that the results of this effort meet the intent of the applicable NRC regulations and guidelines.
Indiana 6 Michigan Electric Company has committed a large amount of resources to perform the design review as detailed in this document.
Therefore, to avoid misallocation of those resources, NRC approval of this document is requested on a timely basis.
At the time of this submission, this document represents our current program plan.
Nevertheless, unforeseen circumstances may require us to depart from these plans.
For this reason, the Indiana 6
Michigan Electric Company reserves the right to make such changes and will notify the NRC prior to the execution of any major planned departures by future updates of this document.
Please note that Figure 9-1 of this Report reflects revised target dates for the Emergency Operating Procedures.
The reason for these changes is that it is taking longer than anticipated to write the EOPs.
