Dear Mr. Denton:
This letter serves to advise you of the implementation status of NUREG-0737, Item II.P,2 ("Instrumentation for Detection of Inadequate Core Cooling").
The Reactor Vessel Level Instrumentation System has been physically installed in Unit 1, We are presently awaiting the receipt of calibration "correction factors" and the environmental qualification reports from Westinghouse Electric Corporation.
Internal review of the environmental qualification of the system cable routing is in process.
The receipt of the calibration "correction factors" is expected in early 1983.
Following receipt of all data we anticipate that the system will be ready for operation by approximately March 1, 1983.
This document has been prepared following corporate procedures which incorporate a reasonable set of controls to insure its accuracy and completeness prior to signature by the undersigned.
