Dear Mr. Denton:

This letter and its Attachment provide additional information on hydrogen control issues for ice condenser

plants, as requested in Mr.

S. A. Varga's letter of July 30, 1982.

The Attachment to Mr. Varga's letter contained sixteen questions on the CLASIX computer program Topical Report No. OPS-07A35.

This report had previously been transmitted to the NRC as Attachment 2

to Enclosures 1 and 2 of the December 1,

1981 letter of L. M. Mills (TVA) to E. Adensam (NRC),

At the present time, we can respond to all parts of five of the 16 questions.

Answers are also provided, in the Attachment to this letter, for various parts of two other questions.

The present submittal reflects work performed by American Electric Power Service Corporation and by Duke Power Company.

Additional answers have recently been received from TVA.

Upon review, these additional responses will be forwarded to the NRC.

Furthermore, our responses to the questions contained in Mr. S. A. Verge's letter of September 16, 1982 are still under development.

We anticipate transmitting them to you by December 1, 1982.

Please note that some material in the Attachment to this

'etter is proprietary to Westinghouase/Offshore Power Systems.
