Dear Mr. Denton:

In our letter number AEP:NRC:0578, dated September 23,

1981, we transmitted a partial response to the SER on Environmental Qualification of Safety Related Electrical Equipment.

At that time we stated that we were continuing our review of the information contained in the attachments to that letter and would amend and revise their content as necessary.

In our letter number AEP:NRC:0578C, dated February 26, 1982, to Mr.

Steve A. Varga, we anticipated transmitting an updated version of the equipment qualification submittal to you by March 31, 1982.

However, at this time, it appears we will not be able to transmit the updated version until May 15, 1982.

This updated version will constitute a complete revision which will supersede all our previous equipment qualification submittals.

This document has been prepared following Corporate Procedures which incorporate a reasonable set of controls to insure its accuracy and completeness prior to signature by the undersigned.
