Re: St. Lucie Unit Nos. 1 and 2 Docket Nos. 50-335 6 50-389 Systematic Assessment of Licensee Performance Ins ection Re ort 90-27 Florida Power & Light Company has reviewed the St. Lucie Plant Systematic Assessment of Licensee Performance (SALP) report dated December 27, 1990.

We concur that continued excellent performance at the St. Lucie Plant results from effective self assessment and management support of improvements in St. Lucie operations. We appreciate the NRC's identification of improvements made in the Health Physics and Security areas.

Although St. Lucie received a rating of 2 in the Maintenance area, we expect the improvements initiated late in the SALP period to reap benefits in the future.

St. Lucie will continue to strive to maintain these ratings.
