& 2 Docket Numbers 50-522 and 50-523 Proprietary Seismic Survey Data Gentlemen:
Puget Sound Power 6 Light Company herewith submits three copies of off-shore seismic surveys in the northern San Juan Islands, unmarked as to possible data interpretation, which is further identified as Attachment B
to this letter.
This data is being submitted in response to a verbal request. by Ms. Sandra Wassler and Mr. Harold Lefevre of the NRC Staff.
Puget Sound Power
& Light Company hereby requests that the enclosed data be withheld in whole, from public disclosure pursuant to 10 CFR 2.790 and 10 CFR 9'(a) ~
Puget Sound Power
& Light Company considers this data to be (1) proprietary data, and (2) geological and geophysicai information and data concerning wells.
This data was acquired by 'Puget Sound Power Light Company's architect-engineer, Bechtel Power Corporation, from the Western Geophysical Company of America.
Contracts with this Company require Puget Sound Power 6 Light Company to request the NRC to withhold the data from public disclosure.
Enclosed herewith, as Attachment A to this letter, is an Affidavit from the company which establishes the confidential nature of the data and explains the reasons for withholding it from public disclosure.
Puget Sound Power
& Light Company submits this data with the understand-ing that no additional copies of the submittal will be made and, all copies will be retained at all times in the possession of NRC employees or designated consultants.
We recognize that the United States Geological Survey is providing advice to the NRC Staff on the seismicity of the Skagit Site, and have provided, as instructed, copies of this data to those designated below together with this transmittal letter and proprietary request.
We would appreciate your giving prompt attention to this matter.
