REVISION 28 TO OPERATIONALQUALITYASSURANCE PROGRAM DESCRIPTION FOR THE WASHINGTON PUBLIC POWER SUPPLY SYSTEM (WPPSS) NUCLEAR PROJECT NO. 2 (WNP-2) (TAC NO. MA3979)
Dear Mr. Parrish:
By letter dated October 23, 1998, WPPSS submitted Revision 28 to the Operational Quality Assurance Program Description (OQAPD) for WNP-2, as a non-reduction in prior commitments.
The staff reviewed OQAPD changes presented in the above revision and confirmed that the changes described appear consistent with our guidelines for non-reductions in commitments.
The changes primarily involved restructuring the Quality Services Group into functional areas and adding a second supervisor.
Appendix I, Qualification Requirements was also changed to show two Quality Services Supervisors.
The Manager, Quality position was not affected by this change other than this position now has more than one Supervisor, Quality reporting to the Manager, Quality. A more detailed review is not planned unless inspection or other review activities indicate that it is warranted.
