CLOSURE OF INVESTIGATION(OI 4-1998-024)
Dear Mr. Parrish:
This letter is in reference to an investigation conducted by the NRC Office of Investigations (Ol) regarding activities at the Washington Nuclear Power, Unit 2. The Ol investigation was initiated in response to a complaint of employment discrimination.
Based on the evidence developed during the investigation, the allegation was not 'substantiated.
The NRC plans no further action regarding this investigation and considers this case closed.
Enclosed for your reference and information is a copy of the synopsis from Ol 4-1998-024.
In accordance with 10 CFR 2.790 of the NRC's "Rules of Practice," a copy of this letter and the enclosure willbe placed in the NRC Public Document Room.

SYNOPSIS This investigation was initiated by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission (NRC).
Office of Investigations (OI). Region IV (RIV); on Nay 28, 1998, to determine if a former safety officer (SO)
~ Washington Public Power Supply System (WPPSS),
Washington Nuclear Project 2 (WNP-2), was discriminated against and terminated by WNP-2 management for reporting safety concerns.
Based on the evidence developed during this investigations the allegation that the former SO was discriminated against and terminated by management for reporting safety concerns was not substantiated.
