Letter, dated July 17, 1997, TP Gwynn (NRC) to JV Parrish (SS), "NRC Inspection Report 50-397/97-03" The Supply System is providing additional information to the response made in the Reference 1 letter.
In Reference 1, the Supply System indicated that Chemistry Technicians were qualified, through training and experience, to perform the limited health physics (HP) duties they would be asked to perform during the first 60 minutes of an emergency.
In an effort to enhance the capabilities of the Chemistry Technicians to respond and perform these limited emergency HP duties, the Supply System has provided additional training to Chemistry Technicians pertaining to access
- control, HP coverage for response
- actions, personnel monitoring, and dosimetry.
This training was completed on June 10, 1997.
The course is titled "Special Training Sessions Topic:
HP Support During Declared ~
Emergency for Chemistry Technicians," course number CH000399, and has been added to the training course
- CH001155, "HP for Chemistry Technicians" for on shift Chemistry Technicians.
