REPORT 50-397/95-23
This refers to the inspection
conducted
by Mr. Gilbert L. Guerra, Jr., of this
office on July 17-20,
1995.
The inspection
included
a review of activities
authorized for your Washington Nuclear Project-2 facility.
At the conclusion
of the inspection,
the findings were discussed
with you and those
members of
your staff identified in the 'enclosed
report.
The disposition of the
notification made to the
NRC on July 12,
1995,
regarding radioactive material
found in the spray
pond drain field trench,
was discussed
during
a telephone
conversation
on August 9,
1995,
between
Mr.
W. Kiel of your staff and
Mr.
G. Guerra of this office.
Areas
examined during the inspection
are identified in the report.
These
included the radiological
environmental
monitoring program.
Within these
areas,
the inspection consisted of selective
examination of procedures
and
representative
records,
interviews with personnel,
and observation of
activities in progress.
The results of this inspection
are documented
in the
enclosed
report.
In accordance
with 10 CFR 2.790 of the
NRC's "Rules of Practice,"
a copy of
this letter and its enclosures will be placed in the
NRC Public Document
Room.
