This refers to the Augmented
Inspection
Team (AIT) inspection
conducted
by
Messrs.
W. Johnson,
J. Clifford, S.
McCrory,
G. West,
and J.
Whittemore of the
NRC staff during the period of April 24-26, with additional inoffice
inspection
between
May 3 and 25,
1995.
The AIT examined
the facts surrounding
the operation of the reactor water cleanup
system
on April 9,
1995,
and other
activities authorized
by
NRC Operating
License
At the conclusion of
the inspection,
the inspectors
met with you and other members of your staff on
April 26,
1995, to discuss
the inspection findings.
Areas
examined during the AIT are described
in the enclosed
inspection report.
Within these
areas,
the inspection consisted of selective
examinations of
'rocedures
and representative
records,
interviews with personnel,
and
observations
by the inspectors.
The findings and conclusions of the AIT are documented
on pages
30-32 in the
enclosed
report.
Overall, the AIT concluded that the event itself was not
safety significant
and did not pose
an additional risk to the public health
and safety.
Nevertheless,
the event
was of significance with respect
to human
performance
at WNP-2.
The findings and conclusions
were reviewed
by
NRC and
the results of that review were provided to you by letter dated
June
2,
1995,
transmitting
NRC Inspection
Report 50-397/95-07.
