ISSUANCE OF LICENSES FOR UPCOHING LICENSING EXAHINATIONS

Dear Hr. Sorensen:

The purpose of this letter is to confirm our understanding regarding issuance of licenses for operators who pass the WNP-2, Harch, 1993, initial licensing examinations.

The examinations will be administered using a revision of. your Emergency Operating Procedures (phase II EOPs) that will not be implemented for plant operations at the time of the examination; We understand that you plan to implement these phase II EOPs in early April.1993.

The examinations will test the candidates knowledge of the phase II EOPs.

Consequently, successful candidates will not be issued licenses until the phase II EOPs are implemented for plant operations.

The Supply System will need to inform us when these EOPs are implemented via letter.

Hr. Horrill and Hr. Russell of my staff have previously discussed this approach with your training department management who have verbally agreed.

We also understand that successful candidates will be placed in your continued licensed operator training program upon notification of examination results.
