Dear Mr. Rosolie:
This is in response to your petition on behalf of the Coalition for Safe Power dat;ed October 14, 1983, requesting that the Nuclear Regulatory Commission take a number of actions with respect to the Washington Public Power Supply System Nuclear Project No.
2 (WNP-2).
Your petition was treated as a request for action under 10 CFR 2.206 of the Commission's regulations.
In my letter to you of December 20, 1983, I informed you that I did not intend to gr ant the relief sought in the petition and that my formal decision would be forthcoming in the near future.
Accordingly, I have today issued the enclosed "Director's Decision" (DD-84-7 ) which explains the reasons for the denial.
A copy of the decision will be referred to the Secretary for the Commission's review in accordance with 10 CFR 2.206(c).
For your information, I have also enclosed a copy of the notice filed with the Office of the Federal Re ister for pubTication.
