UNITED STATES NUCLEAR REGULATORY COt1t>ISSION DOCKET NO. 50-397 WASHINGTON PUBLIC POWER SUPPLY SYSTEH NOTICE OF ISSUANCE OF FACILITY OPERATING LICENSE Notice is hereby given that the U.
S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission (the Commission),
has issued Facility Operating License No. NPF-21, to Washington Public Power Supply System (WPPSS, also the licensee) which authorizes operation of the WPPSS Nuclear Project No.
2 (the facility), by Washington Public Power Supply System at reactor core power levels not in excess of 3323 megawatts thermal (100 percent power) in accordance with the provisions of the License, the Technical Specifications and the Environmental Protection Plan.
However, the License contains a condition currently limiting operation to 5 percent of full power (166 megawatts thermal).
Authorization to operate beyond 5 percent of fill power will require specific Corrmission approval.
WPPSS Nuclear Project No. 2.is a boiling water nuclear reactor located on Hanford Reservat'ion in Benton County, Washington, approximately 12 miles north of Richland, Washington.
The license is effective as of the date of issuance.
The application for the license complies with the standards and requirements of the Atomic Energy Act of 1954, as amended (the Act), and the Commission's regulations.
Tge Commission has made appropriate findings as required by the Act and the Commission's regulations in 10 CFR Chapter I, which are set forth in the License.

The Comm'ission has determined that the issuance'of this license will not result in any environmental impacts other than those evaluated in the Final Environmental Statement since the activity authorized by the license is encompassed by the overall action evaluated in the Final Environ-mental Statement.
