In accordance with currer)t )IRC procedures regarding Ooard Notifications, the infor<,)ation contained in this me)))orandur)) is being provided to ihe Co)mission.
We received allegations fro<)) an individual on ~epte)r)ber 1,
1982 that security background investigations had oeen per formed improperly by r.he <rlackenhut Corporation for the licensee, South Carolina Electric arid Gas Com<pany.
The Uffice of Invesxi gations has confirmed these allegations in part and is presently conducting an investigation to deter<))inc the scope of these irregu-larities.
Region II )<)et with the licensee on October 18, 1988 to assure that an accepter)le corrective action program is conducted on a higl) priority basis.
The Office of Investigations is scheduled to brief the Commission on this matter on Uctober dl, le&.
