In accordance with 24 CFR Part 50 Protection and Enhancement of Environmental Quality, Department of Housing and Urban Develognent procedures, particularly Section 50.6l of our Regulations, we are forwarding the EIS to the responsible HUD Regional Environmental Officer. He will review and axment as appropriate, directly to you by your due date.

If nonHUD EIS s are sent directly to the Office with review responsibility, it would assure more prampt and thorough review. You should send copies of all future EIS's as follows:

l. All EIS's on legislative proposals, regulations, or policy documents of national or multi-state prograanatic significance are reviewed by HUD Headquarters and should be sent to Mr. Richard H. Broun, Director, Office of Environmental Quality, HUD, Washington, D. C. 20410; and

2. All other site specific activities or project EIS's should be forwarded to the appropriate HUD Regional Office for caanent. We have enclosed a list of our Regional Environmental Officers and their addresses.
